The Wye Valley above Tintern is the kind of landscape that’s been inspiring people for centuries – Wordsworth wrote about it, Turner painted it, and it’s easy to see why. This shot is from the wooded hillside above the valley, the trees fading into the fog as it rolls up from the river below – on the morning this was taken, Tintern Abbey was completely swallowed by it.
Shot in black and white to lean into the mood – no colour to distract, just tone and texture and the quiet stillness of the morning.
