Bristol Balloon Fiesta

Every August, hundreds of hot air balloons take off over Bristol for the Balloon Fiesta – one of Europe’s largest annual gatherings of its kind. This collection brings together prints from mornings spent chasing the ascents, with Clifton Suspension Bridge as a recurring backdrop as balloons drift out over the Avon Gorge.

Each print is a museum-quality giclée on 300gsm Somerset Photo paper with archival pigment inks, available unframed from A5 to A0.

The Bristol Balloon Fiesta takes place each August at Ashton Court, with mass ascents typically happening at dawn and again in the early evening, weather permitting. Balloons launch in their hundreds and drift out across the city, with the route often carrying them directly over the Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge - one of the more recognisable pairings in Bristol's skyline and a favourite subject for photographers each year. These prints were taken across different Fiestas, in the calm, early morning light that tends to produce the best flying conditions. Each is printed as a fine art giclée on 300gsm Somerset Photo paper using archival pigment inks, and is available unframed in sizes from A5 to A0.
