Shot from the Leigh Woods bank of the Avon Gorge, looking back towards Clifton – the bridge emerging from the fog on one side and dissolving back into it on the other, with just a hint of the gorge visible alongside.
The fog does something interesting to a subject as familiar as Clifton Suspension Bridge – strips away the context, removes the skyline, and leaves you with just the structure itself. The black and white treatment pushes that further, the detail of the bridge sharp against a soft grey nothing.
