The Quiraing lone tree is one of the most photographed spots on the Isle of Skye – and for good reason. Perched on the edge of the Trotternish Ridge with the landscape of Skye dropping away behind it, it’s the kind of view that stops you in your tracks even when you’ve seen it in photos a hundred times before.
This was a stormy morning – dramatic clouds, the sky doing everything you’d want it to do – and the black and white treatment pushes that further, the contrast between the dark tree and the turbulent sky behind it doing the heavy lifting.
