Every spring, Bristol’s cherry blossom season draws photographers from across the city — and the iconic tree at Arnos Court Park is one of the most sought-after spots. But I’d been waiting for something different: a sky that would add drama to the delicate pink blossom rather than just a pretty blue backdrop.
When I spotted the clouds turning apocalyptic from my window, I grabbed my camera and hurtled down to the park as fast as I could. This is the result — the blossom still soft and full of colour, but set against a brooding, churning sky that gives the whole scene an almost cinematic quality.
