Floating off into the sunrise…

Balloon pass over Clifton Suspension Bridge

The weather did its best to hamper proceedings, but there was a window for perfect balloon flying on the Saturday of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta.

First instameet

I went on my first instagram instameet with the excellent people from igersbristol, the instagram community for Bristol. This saw us hiking across Bristol, from Temple Meads all the way up to Troopers Hill. The view from up there is incredible, and an amazing spot for balloons when they arrive in the summer.

Early morning mist at Ashton Court

I dragged myself out of bed at 4:45am and had a peek out the window to see the hint of red on the horizon – I knew it was going to be a good one…

Twenty minutes later I was pulling into Ashton Court to be greeted by a blanket of fog rolling across the field, just as the sun was starting to creep its way over the hills. So I quickly jumped out, camera in hand, Barney in hot pursuit, and got to snapping. It was pretty awe inspiring.
